Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2003 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Attack! by Dmitri Baltermants. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,182.50 (€ 3,405.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dmitri Baltermants - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grief (Ditch of Kertsch), which sold at auction in October 2013 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,114.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Attack! von Dmitri Baltermants zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.182,50 (€ 3.405,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dmitri Baltermants mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grief (Ditch of Kertsch) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.114,76) versteigert wurde.
