Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Persistence of Memory #16 by Dinh Q. Lê was sold in the First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in February 2007. The price achieved of USD 24,000.00 (€ 18,140.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dinh Q. Lê - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (helicopter, Apocalypse Now, prayers), which sold at auction in April 2021 for USD 63,000.00 (€ 52,369.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Persistence of Memory #16 von Dinh Q. Lê wurde im Februar 2007 in der Auktion First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 18.140,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Dinh Q. Lê mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (helicopter, Apocalypse Now, prayers) beobachtet, die im April 2021 für USD 63.000,00 (€ 52.369,08) versteigert wurde.
