This artwork by Dinh Q. Lê achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. In the Contemporary Photographs auction, the work The Characters sold for USD 30,240.00 (€ 25,963.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dinh Q. Lê - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (helicopter, Apocalypse Now, prayers), which sold at auction in April 2021 for USD 63,000.00 (€ 52,369.08).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Dinh Q. Lê erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Photographs wurde die Arbeit The Characters für USD 30.240,00 (€ 25.963,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Dinh Q. Lê mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (helicopter, Apocalypse Now, prayers) beobachtet, die im April 2021 für USD 63.000,00 (€ 52.369,08) versteigert wurde.
