Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Appearance of Crosses: 97-43 by Ding Yi was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,274,000.00 (€ 152,703.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ding Yi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Appearance Of Crosses 90-6 in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 17,460,000.00 (€ 1,517,338.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Appearance of Crosses: 97-43 von Ding Yi wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.274.000,00 (€ 152.703,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ding Yi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Appearance Of Crosses 90-6 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.460.000,00 (€ 1.517.338,91).
