This artwork by Ding Yi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Appearance of Crosses 96-36 sold for HKD 2,646,000.00 (€ 319,920.66) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ding Yi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Appearance Of Crosses 90-6 in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 17,460,000.00 (€ 1,517,338.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ding Yi erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Appearance of Crosses 96-36 für HKD 2.646.000,00 (€ 319.920,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ding Yi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Appearance Of Crosses 90-6 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.460.000,00 (€ 1.517.338,91).
