Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Derrick Adams could be acquired at Christies in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Big Pants to Fill changed hands for USD 25,200.00 (€ 24,411.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Derrick Adams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figure In The Urban Landscape 31 in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 212,892.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Derrick Adams konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Big Pants to Fill für USD 25.200,00 (€ 24.411,51) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Derrick Adams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figure In The Urban Landscape 31 im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 212.892,79).
