Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Untitled (Girl with Trophy) by Derek Fordjour. The price achieved of USD 88,200.00 (€ 82,191.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derek Fordjour achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ornithologist in May last year with an auction result of USD 945,000.00 (€ 880,626.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Girl with Trophy) von Derek Fordjour zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 82.191,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derek Fordjour erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ornithologist im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 945.000,00 (€ 880.626,22).
