In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Three Ghee Sunrise by Derek Fordjour. The »bidding war« ended at USD 302,400.00 (€ 309,107.64), 68% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Derek Fordjour - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ornithologist, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 945,000.00 (€ 880,626.22).

Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Ghee Sunrise von Derek Fordjour zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 309.107,64) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Derek Fordjour mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ornithologist beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 945.000,00 (€ 880.626,22) versteigert wurde.
