Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Audrey Hepburn during the filming of 'Sabrina' by Billy Wilder by Dennis Stock was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,074.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dennis Stock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'A Memorial Portfolio: James Dean', which sold at auction in October 2013 for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,712.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Audrey Hepburn during the filming of 'Sabrina' by Billy Wilder von Dennis Stock wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.074,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dennis Stock mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'A Memorial Portfolio: James Dean' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.712,37) versteigert wurde.
