The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,625.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Dennis Stock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'A Memorial Portfolio: James Dean' in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,712.37).

Die Arbeit James Dean in seinem Apartment, New York, West 68th Street / James Dean in Fairmount, Indiana. von Dennis Stock wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Herbstauktionen 2020 - Photographie bei Grisebach versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.625,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dennis Stock auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'A Memorial Portfolio: James Dean' im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.712,37).
