Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Metrical by Deborah Butterfield for USD 163,800.00 (€ 145,122.71). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Day Auction at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Deborah Butterfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Setsuko, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 468,500.00 (€ 442,900.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Metrical von Deborah Butterfield für USD 163.800,00 (€ 145.122,71) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Deborah Butterfield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Setsuko beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 468.500,00 (€ 442.900,36) versteigert wurde.
