This artwork by Dawit Abebe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2019. In the First Open | Online auction, the work No. 2 Background 33 sold for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,104.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dawit Abebe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot No.2 Background 3, 2014 sold at auction in October 2018 with the realized price of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,192.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dawit Abebe erzielte im September 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open | Online wurde die Arbeit No. 2 Background 33 für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.104,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Dawit Abebe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit No.2 Background 3, 2014 im Oktober 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.192,29).
