Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work No.2 Background 3, 2014 by Dawit Abebe. The price achieved of GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,307.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dawit Abebe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work No.2 Background 3, 2014, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,192.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit No.2 Background 3, 2014 von Dawit Abebe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.012,50 (€ 8.307,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Dawit Abebe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit No.2 Background 3, 2014 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.192,29) versteigert wurde.
