Auction result well in line with expectations
The work History Keeps Me Awake at Night (For Rilo Chmierlorz) by David Wojnarowicz was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 882,000.00 (€ 854,402.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by David Wojnarowicz have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2018 the work Earth, Wind, Fire And Water was auctioned for USD 1,515,000.00 (€ 1,337,984.63).
