Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nightscape by David Korty was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,395.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David Korty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Santa Monica) in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 34,600.00 (€ 23,556.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nightscape von David Korty kam im Dezember 2012 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.395,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Korty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Santa Monica) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 34.600,00 (€ 23.556,64).
