Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Memory for the Yeoman (Willy Lot) by David Whittaker. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,918.42) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Whittaker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten), which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,507.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Memory for the Yeoman (Willy Lot) von David Whittaker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.918,42) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Whittaker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.507,61) versteigert wurde.
