Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2018 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Breaking from Utter Darkness Towards Sunlit Steeples by David Whittaker. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,207.88). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Whittaker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten), which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,507.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Breaking from Utter Darkness Towards Sunlit Steeples von David Whittaker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.207,88) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von David Whittaker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.507,61) versteigert wurde.
