This artwork by David Boyd achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. In the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction, the work The Abandoned Orchard sold for AUD 26,290.00 (€ 15,812.74) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monoliths, 1962, which sold at auction in May last year for AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Boyd erzielte im April 2006 bei Christies in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II wurde die Arbeit The Abandoned Orchard für AUD 26.290,00 (€ 15.812,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79) versteigert wurde.
