In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work Children Playing by David Boyd. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 20,315.00 (€ 12,218.93), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monoliths, 1962, which sold at auction in May last year for AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79).

Im April 2006 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Children Playing von David Boyd zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 20.315,00 (€ 12.218,93) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von David Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79) versteigert wurde.
