It achieved a price of AUD 20,315.00 (€ 12,218.93), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 69%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monoliths, 1962, which sold at auction in May last year for AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79).

Die Arbeit Children In A Plum Tree von David Boyd wurde im April 2006 in der Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 20.315,00 (€ 12.218,93) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 69%. Für andere Arbeiten von David Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79) versteigert wurde.
