Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A festoon of flowers surrounding an image of the Annunciation by Daniel Seghers was auctioned at Christies in New York in January this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,021.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Seghers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, tulips, irises and other flowers in a glass vase with a cabbage white butterfly in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 587,250.00 (€ 694,060.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A festoon of flowers surrounding an image of the Annunciation von Daniel Seghers kam im Januar diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 58.021,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel Seghers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roses, tulips, irises and other flowers in a glass vase with a cabbage white butterfly im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 587.250,00 (€ 694.060,77).
