This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 100,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Daniel Seghers; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Roses, tulips, irises and other flowers in a glass vase with a cabbage white butterfly sold at auction in December 2019 with the realized price of GBP 587,250.00 (€ 694,060.77).
