Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters: Property from a Private Collection, which included the work Swags of flowers surrounding a cartouche with the Virgin and Child by Daniel Seghers. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,234.42) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Seghers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, tulips, irises and other flowers in a glass vase with a cabbage white butterfly in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 587,250.00 (€ 694,060.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters: Property from a Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swags of flowers surrounding a cartouche with the Virgin and Child von Daniel Seghers zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.234,42) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel Seghers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roses, tulips, irises and other flowers in a glass vase with a cabbage white butterfly im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 587.250,00 (€ 694.060,77).
