The work The fortune teller: four children of Andrew Grote, Frances (1760-1833), George (1762-1830), Charlotte (1763-1787), and Caroline (1773-1817) by Daniel Gardner was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna auction at Christies in London in July 2019. The result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 43,917.34) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Daniel Gardner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Mary Whitbread, Later Lady Grey (1770-1858) in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 233,000.00 (€ 330,315.74).

Die Arbeit The fortune teller: four children of Andrew Grote, Frances (1760-1833), George (1762-1830), Charlotte (1763-1787), and Caroline (1773-1817) von Daniel Gardner wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 43.917,34) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Daniel Gardner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Mary Whitbread, Later Lady Grey (1770-1858) im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 233.000,00 (€ 330.315,74).
