Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna, which included the work Andrew Grote (1710-1788) with wife Mary Anne Culverdon (1740-1797) and children, William and Marianne, with their spaniel by Daniel Gardner. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 82,345.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Daniel Gardner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Mary Whitbread, Later Lady Grey (1770-1858) in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 233,000.00 (€ 330,315.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna durch, in der auch die Arbeit Andrew Grote (1710-1788) with wife Mary Anne Culverdon (1740-1797) and children, William and Marianne, with their spaniel von Daniel Gardner zur Versteigerung kam.
