Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work A bay hunter in an extensive landscape by Daniel Clowes. The price achieved of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 6,754.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Daniel Clowes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eclipse, with jockey and groom, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 12,925.00 (€ 19,992.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit A bay hunter in an extensive landscape von Daniel Clowes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 6.754,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Daniel Clowes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eclipse, with jockey and groom beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 12.925,00 (€ 19.992,05) versteigert wurde.
