Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Racehorse with jockey and groom by Daniel Clowes. The price achieved of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,269.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Daniel Clowes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eclipse, with jockey and groom, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 12,925.00 (€ 19,992.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Racehorse with jockey and groom von Daniel Clowes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.269,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Daniel Clowes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eclipse, with jockey and groom beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 12.925,00 (€ 19.992,05) versteigert wurde.
