The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,562.70), 62% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Daniel Clowes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Eclipse, with jockey and groom sold at auction in June 2002 with the realized price of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 19,992.05).
