Auction result well in line with expectations
The work For One Walled Circular Fluorescent Light (To Heiner Freidrich) by Dan Flavin was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in January last year. The price achieved of GBP 4,410.00 (€ 5,285.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dan Flavin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alternate Diagonals Of March 2, 1964 (To Don Judd) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,077,000.00 (€ 2,255,865.10).
