This work of art by Dai Benxiao could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Travel Inspiration Of Mount Huangshan changed hands for USD 396,500.00 (€ 370,630.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, Travel Inspiration Of Mount Huangshan is the most expensive artwork by Dai Benxiao that we have observed at auction so far.
