Last leaf dated fourth month, wushen year (1668)
Dedicated to Ruan Ting (Wang Shizhen (1634-1711)
Frontispiece by Dong Wenji (1623-1685), signed with three seals
Sixteen colophons by the artist's contemporaries, with a total of thirty two seals

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscapes by Dai Benxiao. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 920,000.00 (€ 85,264.75), 15% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Dai Benxiao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travel Inspiration Of Mount Huangshan in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 396,500.00 (€ 370,630.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscapes von Dai Benxiao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 920.000,00 (€ 85.264,75) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dai Benxiao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travel Inspiration Of Mount Huangshan im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 396.500,00 (€ 370.630,02).
