This artwork by Dadang Christanto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work The crying hill sold for HKD 132,000.00 (€ 12,569.09) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 65,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dadang Christanto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Heads With Silver, which sold at auction in October 2008 for HKD 450,000.00 (€ 45,773.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dadang Christanto erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit The crying hill für HKD 132.000,00 (€ 12.569,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 65.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Dadang Christanto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Heads With Silver beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für HKD 450.000,00 (€ 45.773,54) versteigert wurde.
