Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Photoshop Cs: 60 By 60 Inches, 300 Dpi, Rgb, Square Pixels, Default Gradient "Foreground To Background," Mousedown Y=6960 X=10440, Mouseup Y=4005 X=75; Default Gradient "Transparent Stripes" (Turn Transparency On), Mousedown Y=2650 X=15450, Mouseup Y=6840 by Cory Arcangel. The price achieved of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,694.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cory Arcangel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Photoshop CS: 110 by 72 inches, 300 DPI, RGB, square pixels, default gradient "Spectrum," mousedown y=31100 x=1500, mouse up y=32850 x=800 in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 325,000.00 (€ 376,976.69).
