Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Last Supper by Corrado Giaquinto was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 205,000.00 (€ 138,130.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Corrado Giaquinto have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2008 the work Maria Immaculata mit dem Propheten Elias. was auctioned for CHF 408,000.00 (€ 260,185.51).
