Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Madonna And Child by Corrado Giaquinto was sold in the Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 180,000.00 – 220,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 187,500.00 (€ 164,315.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Corrado Giaquinto have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2008 the work Maria Immaculata mit dem Propheten Elias. was auctioned for CHF 408,000.00 (€ 260,185.51).
