Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Grazing sheep by Cornelis Westerbeek. The price achieved of NLG 8,191.40 (€ 3,600.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Westerbeek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Shepherd and his Flock, which sold at auction in June 2004 for USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,321.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grazing sheep von Cornelis Westerbeek zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 8.191,40 (€ 3.600,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Westerbeek mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Shepherd and his Flock beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für USD 11.352,50 (€ 9.321,37) versteigert wurde.
