Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cattle grazing by the banks of the river on a sunlit afternoon, the Netherlands by Cornelis Westerbeek was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 705.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Westerbeek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Shepherd and his Flock in June 2004 with an auction result of USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,321.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cattle grazing by the banks of the river on a sunlit afternoon, the Netherlands von Cornelis Westerbeek kam im August 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 705,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Westerbeek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Shepherd and his Flock im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.352,50 (€ 9.321,37).
