In June 2005 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A Shepherd With His Flock, A Village In The Distance by Cornelis Westerbeek. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,920.00 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Westerbeek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Shepherd and his Flock in June 2004 with an auction result of USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,321.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Shepherd With His Flock, A Village In The Distance von Cornelis Westerbeek zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.920,00 und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Westerbeek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Shepherd and his Flock im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.352,50 (€ 9.321,37).
