Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Cows Near The Waterside by Cornelis Westerbeek for EUR 1,875.00. This price was achieved in the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours at Sothebys in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Westerbeek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Shepherd and his Flock in June 2004 with an auction result of USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,321.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Cows Near The Waterside von Cornelis Westerbeek für EUR 1.875,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours bei Sothebys in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Westerbeek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Shepherd and his Flock im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.352,50 (€ 9.321,37).
