This artwork by Cornelis Westerbeek achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Amsterdam in September 2007. In the Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work A Summerlandscape With Cows sold for EUR 3,125.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Westerbeek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Shepherd and his Flock, which sold at auction in June 2004 for USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,321.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 95 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelis Westerbeek erzielte im September 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours wurde die Arbeit A Summerlandscape With Cows für EUR 3.125,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Westerbeek mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Shepherd and his Flock beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für USD 11.352,50 (€ 9.321,37) versteigert wurde.
