Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The journey home by Cornelis Westerbeek was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2009. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 675.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Westerbeek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Shepherd and his Flock in June 2004 with an auction result of USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,321.37).
