Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Houses in a river landscape by Cornelis Vreedenburgh was auctioned at Bonhams in London in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,240.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Vreedenburgh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Loosdrechtse Plassen in June 2001 with an auction result of NLG 99,875.00 (€ 48,004.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Houses in a river landscape von Cornelis Vreedenburgh im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.240,06) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Vreedenburgh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Loosdrechtse Plassen im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 99.875,00 (€ 48.004,59).
