Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life Of Flowers In A Glass Vase With Honeysuckle, Pomegranates And Grapes, All On A Marble Ledge by Cornelis van Spaendonck was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 56,250.00 (€ 48,200.51). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis van Spaendonck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Flower Still Life With Roses, Tulips, Peonies And Other Flowers In A Vase, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 114,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life Of Flowers In A Glass Vase With Honeysuckle, Pomegranates And Grapes, All On A Marble Ledge von Cornelis van Spaendonck im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 56.250,00 (€ 48.200,51) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis van Spaendonck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Flower Still Life With Roses, Tulips, Peonies And Other Flowers In A Vase beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 114.000,00 versteigert wurde.
