In the Important Old Master Pictures auction, the work Roses, lilac, irises, narcissus, auriculas, cornflowers and other summer flowers in a vase with grapes and pomegranates on a marble plinth; and Roses, poppies, delphiniums, convolvuli and other summer flowers on a draped ledge sold for GBP 22,705.00 (€ 36,215.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis van Spaendonck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Flower Still Life With Roses, Tulips, Peonies And Other Flowers In A Vase, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 114,000.00.
