In January 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art, which included the work Still Life With Flowers by Cornelis van Spaendonck. The »bidding war« ended at USD 48,000.00 (€ 36,928.76), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis van Spaendonck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Flower Still Life With Roses, Tulips, Peonies And Other Flowers In A Vase, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 114,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Flowers von Cornelis van Spaendonck zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 36.928,76) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis van Spaendonck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Flower Still Life With Roses, Tulips, Peonies And Other Flowers In A Vase beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 114.000,00 versteigert wurde.
