Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pitcher And Soap, 1925 by Consuelo Kanaga was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,141.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Consuelo Kanaga achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Profile of a Young Girl from the Tennessee Series in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 94,857.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pitcher And Soap, 1925 von Consuelo Kanaga im April 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.141,13) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Consuelo Kanaga erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Profile of a Young Girl from the Tennessee Series im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 94.857,60).
