Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Flowers By The Lake by Konstantin Alexandrovich Westchilov was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,080.65). Admittedly, works by Konstantin Alexandrovich Westchilov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Afternoon Sun, Crimea in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 92,516.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Flowers By The Lake von Konstantin Alexandrovich Westchilov im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.080,65) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Konstantin Alexandrovich Westchilov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Afternoon Sun, Crimea im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 92.516,26).
