Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Shepherd and sheep in a moorland landscape by Claude Hayes. The price achieved of GBP 253.00 (€ 414.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Hayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch fishing boats in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,680.00 (€ 6,120.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shepherd and sheep in a moorland landscape von Claude Hayes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 253,00 (€ 414,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Hayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch fishing boats im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.680,00 (€ 6.120,01).
