This work of art by Claude Hayes could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work A figure and shire horses crossing a bridge changed hands for GBP 235.00 (€ 384.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Hayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch fishing boats in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,680.00 (€ 6,120.01).
