Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Canopied Bed by Clarence H. White for USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,474.82). This price was achieved in the auction The Quillan Collection of Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clarence H. White - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Telegraph Poles, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 103,000.00 (€ 66,161.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Canopied Bed von Clarence H. White für USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.474,82) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Quillan Collection of Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Clarence H. White mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Telegraph Poles beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 103.000,00 (€ 66.161,36) versteigert wurde.
